A Beautiful Day--Birdwatching at Barren River

Sabbath afternoon was beautiful with a clear blue, nearly cloudless sky and temperatures in the 40's. We invited Daddy to go with us and went up to Barren River in Ky to do some birdwatching. We weren't sure how much ice we would find since the ice storm hit Ky pretty hard, but the only ice we saw was on the cliffs along the highway.
We didn't see many birds--some Ring-billed Gulls, a few Goldfinches, some Starlings and Robins, a Flicker, a Kingfisher, a Great-blue Heron, maybe a couple other small birds. The lake was beautiful, but "barren".
I did get a couple nice sunset pictures, though.

Trip to Roan Mountain--Part 2

Sunday evening, while it wasn't raining, we went for a short walk.
We crossed this stream,
watched the sun set,

and the moon come out.

A Beautiful End to the Day

The sun was setting beautifully as I returned from the restaurant with supper.
