Hickory ID

I would guess from the nut and the bark, that it's a Mockernut Hickory. But, the leaves on ours seem more elongated than those I've seen in the pictures and the buds are not as "hershey kiss" shaped. So, I'm still stumped.

Can You ID this Hickory? (we didn't)

We were pretty sure this was a Hickory, but not sure what kind.

The nuts on the tree were oval and about 2 inches long.

The outer husk was thick, compared to other hickories.

There were seven leaflets on each branch.
