Christmas--Round 3

Sunday, we visited M's side of the family for Christmas. (His mother, brother and sister-in-law, neice, nephews, and great-nephew). L drove over from Chattanooga. The cousins had a good time playing together.
H, our great-nephew, is six. He was more interested in presents than food. We had a good lunch of soup and sandwiches followed by pies and cookies.
We finally finished eating and presents were opened.
The kids went outside to play for a while--the weather was beautiful.

It was a long day (7 hours of driving), but a good one.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day started with a breakfast of waffles made by M.
T played Santa and passed out the presents.
T was happy to get many things that he had wanted.
After opening presents, we started making lunch. T helped slice the dinner roast (as well as peel the potatoes, stir the gravy, make lemonade, etc.).
Our Christmas holiday dinner looked much like our Thanksgiving holiday dinner. We had dinner roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn (from our garden), mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffin' muffins, rolls, cranberry sauce, cranberry-pomegranate juice, lemonade, cookies, ice cream and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
Daddy joined us for lunch and we opened more gifts after lunch.
Cheddar was glad when the day was done and he could finally take a peaceful nap.

Early Christmas

L was home this past weekend, so we had a somewhat early Christmas. We let her open her gifts.
T gave her a Trivial Pursuit Lord of the Rings game.
And, a Lord of the Rings book.
T and L got to play her game for a while before she left. (Her parents gave her a book and a car repair).

Service Club

On Monday, the Aaron Academy Service Club had their Christmas meeting. (Aaron Academy is the homeschool organization where T is registered). The club members met at Aaron Academy, each bringing 2-3 dozen homemade cookies. They assembled the cookies onto gift trays and went out into Hendersonville to distribute them. They went to two fire stations.
Next, they went to city hall. They were given a tour of the building and got to sit in the city council seats.
They got to meet the Mayor of Hendersonville, ask him questions, get their picture made with him, and gave him cookies.
The last stop was at the Police Department. A uniformed officer came to collect the cookies and have a picture made with the group.
The kids all seemed to have a good time and the cookies were appreciated by all who received them.
