Michigan Trip--Day 4--One Last Geocache

Statue of J.N. Andrews and his children in front of Pioneer Memorial Church.

Sculpture in front of Science building.

Site of the original Admisistration Building.

A memorial garden plaque.

After a good breakfast at IHOP, we returned to the campus of Andrews University for one last geocache. The directions took us from one campus location to another--each with clues as to the next location. It was supposed to end with the actual geocache, but we were unable to find it. So, we headed for home.

Michigan Trip--Day 2--Geocaching--Cache #5

The final geocache of the day was on the campus of Andrews University.

It was in a dead stump at the far side of a ravine.

The cache items were in a nut jar inside a coffee container.

M walked back across a log to return the cache to its hiding place.

The third geocache was in a park in Berrien Springs. It was in a small lock 'n lock box. It also held a travel bug . T left a "Where's George" dollar and took the travel bug.

The dead stump where it was hidden.

The travel bug.

The next cache was in a different park in Berrien Springs--M and T looked and looked, but couldn't find it.

Michigan Trip--Day 2--Geocaching--Caches 1 & 2

The first cache we looked for was on the way to Sarett Nature Center--we were unable to find it.

The second cache we looked for after lunch. It was near a small cemetery.

The cache was in a medium lock 'n lock box in the stump of a dead tree.

T removed the cache and opened it.

Inside, among other things, was a dragon travel bug. A travel bug is a trackable item that is moved from cache to cache. T left a post card and took the travel bug--it has a tracking number to record on the geocaching web site.

T logged in on the cache log.

Then, he returned the cache where he found it.

More Geocaching

The cache by the side of the road.

A cache at Historic Rock Castle.

A Wal-mart cache.

T was able to find three more caches yesterday. The first was by the side of a road a couple miles from home. The second was at the entry to Rock Castle. A pine tree behind Wal-mart was hiding the last one he found.
