KY-TN Conference Camporee--Part 6

After the morning service, we returned to our campsite for a lunch of haystacks.

Following lunch, the Pathfinders were divided into groups and rotated through five stations of activities. The first was singing. At the second, each person had a book of the Bible taped to their back and without talking were supposed to arrange themselves in order.

The third station had popcorn Bible verses--each person to speak a word of a familiar text followed by another person saying the next word and so on. At station four, teams were lined up in rows--a quiz question was asked--if the player got the right answer, they could advance one step. The first team to cross a finish line was the winner.

The last station was a scavenger hunt of sorts. Illustrations were posted in random places over several campsites. They were to write down what they thought the illustration was and see how many they could get correct.
We walked the long way back to our campsite--saw some deer--played with osage oranges.

Supper was hot dogs (veggie, of course) roasted over the campfire. The evening meeting was after supper and followed by a rousing game of dare base.

The Campout--Saturday Night

Saturday night was a chance for the Pathfinders to practice teamwork and for the new Pathfinders to practice pitching and striking tents.

They separated into a boys' team and a girls' team with the veteran Pathfinders supervising, helping, instructing, etc.

Each team had to pitch and strike two different tents.

They also had to learn to put the tents back into the tent bags.

After the tenting, we went out to the campfire and had s'mores and worship. The Pathfinder girls had pitched a tent on the stage area to sleep in--the boys had pitched two tents on the tumbling mats for sleeping in. Everyone was tired and settled down fairly quickly.
