Getting Ready for Pathfinder Fair

Last night at the beginning of our Pathfinder meeting, we took the kids outside to practice stilt walking and boardwalking for the Pathfinder Fair. We wanted them to practice in the grass to cushion any falls.
T remembered how to walk on stilts from when they did this activity several years ago.
Each Pathfinder took a turn.

This is the boardwalk. They have to work in unison to walk and move the boards at the same time.

They did very well at this for it being the first practice.

Florida Trip--City of Sopchoppy Myron B. Hodge Park

On the way back to the hotel from St. George Island, we stopped at the Sopchoppy city park hoping to see Mississippi and Swallow-tailed kites. There was a nice boardwalk, but no kites. (We did see several Swallow-tailed kites on our trip, but none here).

Perhaps one reason we didn't see any interesting birds was the noisy group of people swimming just to the right of this view.

It was a pretty park--nice gazebo as well as the boardwalk--we were probably just there at the wrong time of day or year.
