KY-TN Conference Pathfinder Camporee--Part 3

The rains began during the night and Friday dawned cold (very) and wet (very).
Everyone huddled under the dining canopy and around a small propane heater--trying to get warm and dry. We kept hoping that the rain would end soon.

After lunch, we checked the tents and discovered many wet sleeping bags and clothes. We decided to make a trip to Carthage and find a laundromat to dry things out. Our fearless leader and her husband took all the kids with them to Walmart to get warm and dry while restocking the pantry. I took a load of wet things to the laundromat.
Dry belongings were set on the tables to keep them that way while the tents were being drained--yes, cleared and then tipped so the water could run out the door.
Many wet towels used for mopping had to be wrung out and reused.
On the first trip to the laundry, I filled seven dryers--had to run several of them twice.
We got back to camp and discovered that more items had been wet than we thought at first check, so I took another load back to the laundry.
The second trip, I filled eight dryers and had to run several of them two or three times to get things dry.

The laundry finally dry, I headed back to camp. The rest of the group had already gone to the evening meeting. After the meeting, we passed out dry sleeping bags and sent everyone to bed.
