Monday I went to town and bought my textbook for the Intermediate Algebra class I'll be taking while T is in his Comp. 101 class. Of course, they couldn't use the same book as last year (which I already have--or a book that could be found for less online) so I had to spend $160+ for books.
Monday evening, was registration for our homeschool group. We went to the White House park, registered, had ice cream, visited, came home.
Tuesday, I spent the morning (most of it) cooking. I made a lasagna for the crockpot and a pan of brownies. I tried to call Mr. M to remind him that we had an appointment in the afternoon, but was unable to reach him. After about an hour and a half of calling (with wait time in between--I was cooking), I decided to go check on him. When I got to his driveway, I could see he was sitting in the chair on his carport. I pulled in the drive and he got up and headed to his truck--he was ready to go! I stopped him and told him we weren't leaving until about 2:00 (it was around 11:30 then). We went in the house and I called in a prescription for him so we could pick it up on our way out of town. He said he guessed he should write down his appointments--I showed him on the calander where I had written it down for him--he said he hadn't thought to look there. I came home and finished cooking, made lunch, and got ready for the afternoon.
I picked Mr. M up just before 2:00--we stopped at the bank and pharmacy on the way out of town. We went to the lab first for some lab work ordered last week. Then, we went to the rehab place where he is to get rehab for balance (to counteract the dizziness he has been having). We were there for about an hour (first half hour or so was information gathering). After rehab, we went to Cracker Barrel for supper. We got home just in time to give away the last puppy. Then, I refilled Mr. M's pill box and helped change his patch. Time spent with Mr. M was about 6 hours.
Wednesday, we went to the Chattanooga area to visit two of my aunts (one was visiting the other). I took food to fix for lunch--the crockpot lasagna; the pan of brownies; squash from our garden; tomatoes from our garden; corn from our garden; frozen green beans (not from our garden); lemonade; and got vanilla ice cream to go with the brownies once we got there. I didn't want to put the aunts to any trouble to cook, as they haven't been feeling well lately and we were a small crowd once my daughter and brother came over. I should have plugged the crockpot in while we were in the car driving there to warm it up--once we got there it took too long--I had to scoop some of the lasagna out and warm it in the microwave. The aunts enjoyed the meal and we had a good visit.
Thursday, I took my car back to the mechanic since the "check engine" light had come back on. He pulled the battery cable off for a while and the light went out. The plan was to get the emission test done here in town (they are supposed to come on the third Thursday of the month), but for some reason, they came last week. So I drove to Gallatin to get the test redone. It flunked again, and the "check engine" light came on just as I left the emission testing station. I picked up a few things at Walmart and some bird seed at Tractor Supply, then went back to the mechanics. He said he would work on it--I called M and he came and picked me up (he was working at home). The car was done by about 3:30--now, just have to see if it passes the test again on Tuesday when I take it down again.
