Florida Trip--St. George Island State Park

After lunch, we drove on the bridge across the Inter-coastal waterway to St. George Island. This island park is surrounded by Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. There are nine miles of white, sandy beaches.

The sand was so white in the sunlight that it was nearly blinding.

We saw an American Oystercatcher--a lifer.

We stayed for a couple hours, till I started to sunburn--even with sunscreen on.

This pair of Laughing Gulls were at a picnic area--probably hoping for a handout.
