I had an appointment about 40 miles from home yesterday morning. Rather than drive home afterward, then back 25 miles for class in the evening, L and I just made a day of it. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll through a craft store, several clothing stores and a couple home decorating stores--places we don't usually go to--mostly just window shopped.
At lunch, our waitress was a girl who had graduated last year from the homeschool group T attends. It was nice to catch up with what she is doing now.
On our way to the college in the late afternoon, we stopped at a park along a large creek. There were many water birds--Mallards, Coots, Canada geese, domestic ducks, Muscovy ducks, Ring-billed gulls, Great Blue Herons. Most of these birds are on the "Birds in the Park" slideshow.
I added several birds to my March list of birds seen away from home--the Great Egrets, Blue-winged Teals, the Coots, a Black-crowned Night Heron (immature) and a Cooper's Hawk. My combined at home and away from home bird list for March now has 54 species.
